We’re in the middle of summer which means the sun is out and the temperatures are high! It is imperative to keep your employees safe and healthy whether they work indoors or outside in the hot weather. OSHA recently released a publication explaining the responsibility of employers to protect their workers from the heat, especially during the summer months. It is up to the employer to:

  • Provide workers with water, rest, and shade.
  • Allow new or returning workers to gradually increase workloads and take more frequent breaks during the first week of work as they build a tolerance for working in the heat.
  • Plan for emergencies and train workers on prevention.
  • Monitor workers for signs of illness.

Keeping your employees safe is the primary goal. Let us know if you have specific questions on how to be OSHA-compliant.
